Fabrics and Materials

At Alexander Night we are dedicated to crafting each garment with the finest 100% certified organic fabrics and materials. On our product pages, we list the fabric type, make-up, and origin for complete transparency.

We use certified organic materials as it ensures ethical and sustainable production, without child labour, forced labour, GMO's, toxic chemicals and dyes, plastics and carcinogens. The governing body enforces strict social and environmental guidelines across the whole supply chain from the farm all the way to production of the garment. Without the certification we can not ensure any of this as only 0.95% of cotton is certified organic.

We exclusively use Aegean and Pima certified organic cotton, sourced directly from a single, specialized sustainable fabric manufacturer that is one of the world's leaders in sustainable fabrics. They have helped implement certifications, are involved in governing bodies and consistently innovate and improve their systems to provide a broader spectrum of 100% certified organic cotton fabrics.

Our Shibari Rope is made with 100% certified organic Aegean cotton, sourced from a prestigious global brand that has been manufacturing rope for over 100 years. Their values of lasting quality and continued innovation date back to 1450, and each batch of rope is freshly woven to ensure exceptional quality.

For our thread, we use certified organic Pima cotton sourced from the world's leading certified organic thread manufacturers based in the United States.

Our buttons are sustainably sourced from a selection of materials, including Corozo, Mother of Pearl, Wood, or Coconut, ensuring that each garment is not only beautiful but environmentally conscious.

Finally, our labels are woven from 100% certified organic cotton, so you can feel confident knowing that every aspect of your garment has been ethically and sustainably sourced.

Ethical Silk

At Alexander Night, we are committed to ethical and sustainable production methods for all of our fabrics, including our special type of silk.

Traditional silk production methods often involve breeding silk moths in captivity and killing the moth to harvest the cocoon. However, we have chosen a different approach. Our silk is made from wild silk moths that are bred, but not killed. The silk moth is allowed to go through metamorphosis and transform before their cocoon is carefully harvested. This method ensures that no animals or ecosystems are harmed in the process, while still allowing us to use one of the oldest and most luxurious fabrics in history.

We take pride in our commitment to ethical and sustainable practices in all aspects of our brand.

Waste and Standards

At Alexander Night, we are committed to our core values and mission of sustainability. We constantly strive to find new ways to reduce our impact on the planet.

Our clothing is made exclusively from certified organic cotton and other compostable materials. These fabrics, unlike synthetic ones such as polyester, will naturally return to the earth in the right environment. This ensures that our products are not only stylish but also environmentally conscious.

We take great care during the sampling and production process to save all off-cuts where possible. This allows us to repurpose them into accessories or create unique, one-of-a-kind garments.

We are also aware that a significant amount of waste comes from shipping and packaging. That's why we use FSC-certified recycled and recyclable or reusable cardboard for all of our boxes and thank you cards. This helps us reduce our carbon footprint while delivering your purchases in an eco-friendly way.
